So You’d Like to Propose a Session for IAIA27?

Presenter: Jack Krohn
Recorded: 23 June 2026
Webinar Details

Preparing and submitting a session proposal for IAIA’s annual conference can be both daunting and rewarding. While many current (and prospective) IAIA members and conference participants may be familiar with the principles for drafting a paper or presentation abstract, they may be less comfortable with the concept of proposing and chairing a session.

There are basic questions anyone considering submitting a session proposal must resolve for themselves:

  • Does your idea work best as a session or as a presentation?
  • Do you have a clear idea of how you would like the session to work?
  • Do you understand the opportunities, requirements and limitations associated with each of the session type options?
  • Do you have a co-proposer or do you intend to submit as a sole chair?
  • Are you open to accepting unsolicited abstracts/presentations?
  • Do you wish to invite specific presenters to submit abstracts?
  • Do you want to conduct a session without formal presentations, for example as a game or a solution room?
  • Do you want to engage the audience to address an identified problem or challenge?

Following the webinar, participants should feel empowered to submit a sound and competitive proposal for IAIA27 (Submission deadline: 30 July 2026).
