This workshop shares two sets of tools collectively called “Organized Reasoning.” The first set helps build strong arguments. The second shows how to present arguments clearly in your written work.
The workshop addresses:
- common errors in arguments and written documents;
- three features necessary to build strong arguments;
- five fundamental strategies that guide the detailed tactics of argument and writing;
- specific approaches to package arguments clearly into written documents;
- steps to keep projects and final documents short, efficient and streamlined; and
- how people implement these tools into their professional practice.

Dr. Glenn Brown has over 30 years of experience as an ecologist and educator specializing in environmental management. He has worked on projects for industry, government and non-governmental organizations in North America, Central America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
He taught courses on Ecosystem Science and Management and Analytical Thinking and Communications for 15 years in the Environment and Management Program at Royal Roads University.

IAIA will refund registration fees upon written request received before the specific course deadline; a US$125 processing fee will be retained. After the course deadline date, no refunds will be issued for cancelations or no-shows. Substitutions for paid registrants may be made in writing without financial penalty.
