Membership FAQs

IAIA membership is open to all individuals interested in impact assessment. The payment of annual dues is required. There is no formal review or vetting process for individual members, so membership in IAIA does not imply any professional certification or endorsement of an individual’s qualifications or expertise. However, IAIA is deeply committed to ethical and professional practice in all its operations and expects the same from its members. As such, IAIA encourages its members to make a personal pledge of commitment to a professional Code of Conduct.

Impact Assessment and Project Appraisal (IAPA) is an international peer-reviewed journal and is the official publication of IAIA, and current IAIA members get full access to all IAPA articles via an electronic subscription.

Published six times per year, IAPA contains a variety of peer-reviewed research articles, letters, and book reviews of recently published titles. IAPA provides a one-source link to the latest ideas in the wide-ranging field of impact assessment.

Want to see for yourself? Peruse several open-access articles on the publisher's website, and then join IAIA for all the rest!

Upload (or email) a transcript, student ID, letter from an administrative professional, or a diploma from within the past 12 months. Recent graduates are welcome to join IAIA as student members within one year of graduation.

You do not need to be a member of IAIA to attend annual conferences, events, and other special meetings (but members DO receive a hefty discounted rate for all events!).

Only current IAIA members get full access to IAIA's professional online community, IAIA Hub. There members can post and contribute to discussions and announcements, get involved in special-interest Section groups, and network with other IAIA members.
