IAIA19 information IAIA19 will be held 29 April – 2 May 2019 in Brisbane, Australia, with training courses and technical visits planned for 27-28 April and 3-5 May. #iaia19 The preliminary program and registration informationare available online. Registration is open through 5 April. 12training courses are being offered 27-28 April. Please register early! Courses will be cancelled if they do not reach the minimum number of paid participants by 1 March 2019. After 1 March, registrations will be accepted subject to availability and receipt of payment up until the 5 April 2019 final registration deadline. Why is Brisbane talking about revolution? IAIA is now accepting bids to host IAIA21 and IAIA22. The Board evaluates many factors including location; proposed theme in relation to the IAIA mission, vision and values; quality of the proposal; and potential financial outcome.

Resource available: Colombia A preliminary draft of the Country Systems Report on Environmental Licensing and Enforcement in Colombia has been released. The document is the latest in a series of country-specific reports which can be accessed on the INECE website. The reports are intended to serve as a resource for practitioners involved in strengthening the capacity of environmental regulatory systems to secure environmental and social outcomes that advance national development objectives. ˗ Submitted by Gunnar Baldwin 5. Social impact studies sought for teaching purposes Prof. Sango Mahanty, a colleague of IAIA member Sara Bice, teaches a graduate-level course on social impact assessment at The Australian National University Crawford School of Public Policy. Sango has recently been updating her course material in order to provide the students with the very best/current information. She is looking for “living†case studies and reports, in particular, documents that address one or more of the following:
Safeguards related to involuntary resettlement.
Safeguards related to indigenous peoples.
Major infrastructure developments (e.g. dams, railways, roads...)
