1. IAIA19: 25 January Early Bird registration deadline
IAIA19 will be held 29 April – 2 May 2019 in Brisbane, Australia, with training courses and technical visits planned for 27-28 April and 3-5 May. #iaia19

2. Call for conference hosts
Are you interested in hosting a future IAIA annual conference in your country? IAIA is now accepting bids to host IAIA21 and IAIA22. The Board evaluates many factors including location; proposed theme in relation to the IAIA mission, vision and values; quality of the proposal; and potential financial outcome.
Contact Jennifer Howell at IAIA HQ (jen@iaia.org) to express your interest and receive information on preparing an effective proposal. Bids for IAIA21 are due 15 April 2019.
3. Resource: OAIA water conference proceedings available
OAIA (Ontario Association for Impact Assessment): Proceedings from the conference “Planning & Protecting Water Resources: Emerging Issues, Approaches and Technologies†are now available. Presentations address emerging water-related issues that are changing the way EA is practiced in Ontario and elsewhere, and how EA practitioners are tackling these issues through innovative approaches or new technologies and tools to help protect water resources. 4. Upcoming Branch, Affiliate, and Associated Organization events
WAB (Washington Area Branch): Session on "Cultural Heritage Lender Requirements, Challenges, and Successful Implementation" and introduction to IAIA’s new Executive Director, David Bancroft. 15:00-17:00 on 23 January in Room U12-250, MIGA, World Bank U Building, 1800 G Street, NW, Washington DC. Presenters Arlene Fleming, Gregory Lockard, and Christopher Polglase will provide an overview of international lender standards for cultural heritage and their implementation on development projects throughout the world, followed by special guest David Bancroft, who will share his thoughts on IAIA and touch on the 2019-2021 strategic plan being developed for IAIA. AEIAN (Association for Environmental Impact Assessment of Nigeria: The 4th annual Charlie Wolf symposium will be held 14 February at the Federal Ministry of Environment Building in Abuja, Nigeria.
