Ideas for ways you can show your appreciation
Earth Day is 50 years old today and most of the celebrations are associated with community activities promoted by environmental interest groups. But there is a group of people who work quietly, most often behind the scenes, protecting our air, water, cultural, natural, social and health resources that often go unrecognized: environmental professionals. These environmental scientists, planners and engineers are continuing their work during the pandemic as essential workers monitoring conditions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations (yes and maintaining personal physical distancing). Many environmental professionals working from their homes are creating solutions to protect our environment, public health and safety while providing a high quality of life.
Although we cannot show our thanks to environmental professionals in person today, we can give a virtual thanks. Here are some ideas for ways you can show your appreciation for all they do:
Share this post on your social media accounts or send this post to other organizations where environmental practitioners work.
Share the work of someone you know on social media, tag them using #IHeartEnvironmentalProfessionals or #InformedDecisionUsingScience
Share a short bio of someone you know who works to protect our environment #IHeartEnvironmentalProfessionals or #InformedDecisionUsingScience.
Share an article written by or about an environmental professional and tag with #IHeartEnvironmentalProfessionals or #InformedDecisionUsingScience.
