The State of Impact Assessment Survey

  Did you know impact assessment is practiced in over 120 countries world-wide, shaping important decisions that affect future environments, communities and sustainability outcomes? As a global community of IA professionals, we need better information about the shared challenges and opportunities, policy settings, and practice advancements happening in diverse places.

  To this end, IAIA has partnered with the Australian National University Next Generation Engagement Program to run the State of Impact Assessment survey. This world-wide study into the practice, priorities, and policies shaping IA needs your input by 6 March.

  The insights and ideas from this survey will be shared at IAIA20 in Seville, Spain, and beyond. This research will help the IA community to:

  • build understanding of best practice to improve community, economic, and environmental outcomes and mitigate or prevent negative outcomes from major projects
  • identify trends in IA regulation and policy to improve decision-making and project outcomes
  • support the professionalisation of IA as a discipline.
